About Lieber Panos
Through the years I can’t remember ever having stopped humming melodies. I grew up listening to the masters of 1960s soul, soundtracks and the music of the great European and American singers and songwriters. For a short period of time I took classes at the classical music department of ‘Athenaeum Music School’. My way of singing could be described as ‘in the crooner tradition’, embracing not only jazz standards, but also Greek songs of the 1930s-1950s era.

‘Pied à Terre’ started their shows at ‘Mikros Kerameikos’ Theatre last September. A group of five musicians with experience in classical jazz and jazz standards. ‘Á la carte’ is their second show, presented again at this small and cosy theatre. This time they focus on French songs: You may listen to pieces that became well-known by performers such as Edith Piaf, Charles Aznavour, Dalida, Hubert Giraud and Jean Drejac. Those will be joined by classics by Django Reinhard, Charlie Hayden, Cole Porter and many others. Vocalists Stefania Morosini and Panos E. Love songs are short one-acts, the lyrics of which allow the hero to live out his fantasies: from unrequited feelings of love, to feelings of revenge, remorse and self-pity.
An anthology of such songs, under the title ‘Irthes Arga’ (‘You Came Too Late’) will be performed for you by singers Stefania Morosini and Panos E. Gerakakis (alias Lieber Panos), Haris Botsis on the piano, Thodoris Christodoulou on drums and Manos Loutas on bass, altogether forming the band ‘Pied à Terre’.
The show includes songs from the ‘Great American Songbook’ of the 1930s-1950s combined with pieces from the Greek repertoire of the time, amongst others by Attik and Christos Chairopoulos.

We have already introduced them to you several times. They also participated as musicians in our Vaudeville Revue last year!
Anamateur (Georgios T. Anamateros) is a pianist and singer who revives the tragi-comical element of jazz of the 1920s & 1930s through unknown treasures of well-known composers (Fats Waller, Cole Porter etc.) but also through his own original compositions!
Lieber Panos (Panos E. Gerakakis) is an impressive crooner who will take you on a journey with his voice!

It’s already been ten years since Mariangela Salihou from Athens contacted Nefeli Ambatzi in London (where they met and danced Lindy Hop already some years earlier, since 2004) and decided to start the Lindy Hop scene in Athens!
Come and celebrate 10 years since our beginning, with a big party, in one of the most wonderful places in Athens, with many guest musicians, many performances (including some of the most successful ones by the members of Athens Lindy Hop) and everyone you who love this dance and music!
We will also be joined by Nefeli who will come from London especially for the event and will once again present two of her wonderful performances!

The party will take place in an amazing venue, ‘Odos Kassandras’, a beautiful hall of exclusive events, atmospherically lit, with stone wall and wooden floor, ideal to host our dance!
It is a part of the history of Athens, already going through a history of a century and starting as a car factory (one of the first to appear in our city), while during the war it was used by the army as a material warehouse. After liberation, it housed shops and businesses and today, at the beginning of the 21st century, it has found its way again, as it has been transformed into a literally impressive space.
It’s a beautiful venue where we had one of our most successful parties in 2014 with Steve & Chanzie and the Speakeasies!
